Following updated government guidance on outdoor activities, some restrictions on the private use of powered craft for leisure cruising on the above waterways are lifted on Monday 1 June 2020.
Lockdown in the UK is still in force but if you are the owner of a private use powered craft, you may now use it to take short day trips.

Black Sluice

With the opening of the new navigation channel at Boston Barrier, we are required to make the Port of Boston Harbour Master aware of all lock passage bookings the day before any locking in and out at Black Sluice Lock. Therefore, with immediate effect, all lock passage bookings must be booked a minimum of 48 hours in advance of passage.

Closure Notice

10 August 2020 for approximately 4 weeks

The lock will be closed for works which include undertaking a drain-down inspection of the lock chamber along with required maintenance and refurbishment activities. The scheme will also enable essential repair works and a survey of the structure to ensure resilience for navigation and flood defence.
